The core of the piece Centre of Beauty concists of two videos. The main video shows the expressions on the faces of people watching fireworks. It shows no actual firework, only the light they project on the faces of the onlookers and the reactions it causes. The video is shot on several occasions.
The second video consists of a text showing parts of a dialouge between a firework wholesaler and his agent about fireworks. The text shows how the wholesaler speaks of his passion with a banal, almost bored jargong.
The piece has also been shown together with a photo of the city that is one of the worlds largest producers of fireworks. In this way, the three parts of the piece represent the origin, sender, and target of the possible beauty lying within the firework.
